How to get there
We are situated in the heart of the Scottish Borders, just over the Eildon Hills from Melrose and just up from the River Tweed near St. Boswells and Newtown St. Boswells. We shall send you exact directions with your booking information
Roulotte Retreat is just off the A68 from St. Boswells or near the A7 which runs through Selkirk, Hawick and Galashiels. We give you detailed directions on booking.
Buses run from Edinburgh, Newcastle and Carlisle to nearby Newtown St. Boswells and Galashiels. If you are travelling by bus then please let us know and we can arrange a pick up for you. The nearest bus drop off is at Newtown St. Boswells on the 51/52 route with Munros of Jedburgh.
- Perryman's Buses - look for route 51/52 from Edinburgh and the nearest stop is St Boswells where you can pre order a taxi to pick you up.
- First Buses - 95/95x from Edinburgh or Carlisle. Nearest stop is Galashiels and you can pick up a taxi at the bus station
By train or plane
We are happy to announce that the Borders Railway opened in September 2015. You can travel from Edinburgh to nearby Tweedbank, the last stop and organise a taxi before your arrival to pick you up from there to Roulotte Retreat (15 mins), you could shop in Melrose en route; or get off at Galashiels if you wish to do some supermarket shopping and pick up a taxi at the station (20 mins). Alternatively you can organise your train arrival to coincide with the Borders Weaver bus service, which brings you into the village of Bowden which is close to Roulotte Retreat. Other train stations are in Glasgow, Berwick-upon-Tweed or Carlisle where you can travel by bus or train as above.

The nearest airports are Edinburgh, Newcastle and Glasgow. We can also help you to organise a taxi to pick you up from airports or railway stations.
If coming from certain parts of the Borders arrival by canoe, kayak or raft could be possible!!!
