Unique Experience

The Roulottes themselves offer unusual exteriors and interiors as well as accommodation. Ruby Bowtop under the Scots Pine trees with sunset beyond is a dream to add that authentic touch. The Studio and outdoor covered deck offers back up space with facilities for dining, changing, showering, toilet facilities and downtime for crew, as well as excellent wifi. Horseshoe Cottage offers additional accommodation.
Car parking for up to 12 vehicles.

Relax whilst you work

Roulotte Retreat can be exclusively booked and is on a small private estate so privacy is guaranteed. To relax, there are eco hot tubs and outdoor copper bathtubs as well as eco saunas with panoramic views over the meadow and fields for sunset and stargazing. Filming in a wild wildflower meadow full of colour, exquisite birdsong and wildlife provides a rare backdrop of a completely natural setting.

Indulge in local delicacies and gourmet produce

We can recommend excellent local suppliers to cater for your group as well as back up suppliers to ensure your experience at Roulotte Retreat as a location venue is both productive and enjoyable. Roulotte Retreat offers that extraordinary combination where you can work, rest and play in a timeless space with all the facilities you need, and more.

Being in the Scottish Borders there is an excellent transport network - by road; to nearby train station 15 minutes away; and airports at Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle. 

We were delighted to host Bob and Paul and the Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing Crew in 2019 to film their stay at Roulotte Retreat whilst fishing in the nearby River Tweed.

In February 2013, Elle Taiwan flew their crew over for a ‘Countryside Fantasy’ fashion shoot at Roulotte Retreat which included our deerhound lurchers,  Bear and Chloe as well as Douglas our huge Cochin cockerel.

BBC Scotland's Greatest Escape
October 2022 - new BBC programme to explore Scotland's Greatest Escapes. TV cameras rolled into the meadow with JJ Chalmers and Grado, the presenters; Aimee and Graham, the guest participants. We were delighted to win the category of Mind, Body and Soul. Watch episode 4 here

BBC2 Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing
August 2020 – Avril and Alan host Paul and Bob's return to Scotland in Series 3; Episode 1 as they fish for salmon once more - this time on the mighty River Tweed.
