A family and friends wedding was organised by Liz and Mark for almost a year before the special day. Both wished for all their favourite ingredients for their wedding day, so as well as having family and friends around them, they wished the wedding to be completely different and enjoy some of their favourite food - traditional home cooked fish and chips and ice cream in all their favourite flavours from Beatrix the vintage ice cream bicycle. The ceremony at the last minute switched from the meadow to the Studio deck due to windy weather and the rustic scene was set with straw bales providing the seating and covered in white silk with family and friends all pitching in to decorate the Studio and deck. Liz and Mark had a lovely Humanist ceremony with Laura before retiring into the Studio to receive their guests and sit around the wood burner in a horse shoe style so that everyone could join in the evening meal. It was such a lovely scene to see all the guests in their finery queuing up for their dinner, real quality home cooked fare, with veggie options. Little did they know that royalty had queued in front of that very same van just the week before at a local castle!
"We are honoured to be one of your featured wedding couples!
We were looking for somewhere different and relaxed compared to a traditional stiff collar ‘off the shelf’ package. We loved the rustic, shabby chic style. It was a pleasure to stay in the Roulottes, so different from a standard hotel stay and lovely to have everyone stay on site together but with the option to have some quiet time separately too. Might I add I found Zenaya so comfortable, even at 30 weeks pregnant! The studio looked amazing with all the decorations and again was ideal, big enough but still intimate with the tables set up horseshoe style. And nicest of all was that all the guests had an amazing time and all said it was so different from any wedding they had been to before. Everyone has said they would visit again and also recommend Roulotte Retreat to others. If we could do the whole day again we wouldn't change anything.
We also think your prices are very reasonable and it was nice to be able to have our own casual bar set up and bring in caterers. We often look at photos from other weddings at Roulotte Retreat on your facebook page and its incredible how they are all so different and all so beautiful."
